Radiotherapy risk management: Going beyond the concept of safety barriers

The traditional approaches to safety in risk activities have been applied radiotherapy following the occurrence of serious accidents. This strategy is based on characterization specific risks and definition preventive protective measures, particularly for implementation barriers. Evaluating performance barriers makes it possible, theory, determine level control. article presents a literature review that highlights limits barrier concept. To overcome these limitations, we then introduce notion “activities contributing safety” (ACS). concept allows us better take into account managerial, contextual, organizational human dimensions promote control through more realistic approach.
